At a Glance

A walk through one of Buffalo’s many neighborhoods can be stimulating, entertaining and a chance to see how the locals live. For most travelers, shopping is near the top of the list of things to do while away from home, and everyone is always looking for the next spot to relax and re-energize after getting in some serious steps. With that in mind, here are some suggestions about where to sip, shop and savor while in the BUF.

Sip

Prosper

Inspired by Prosper Peuquet—the region’s legendary brewmaster of the late 1800s and early 1900s—Prosper Brewing has returned the tradition of brewing to the Tonawandas.

Mooney’s

Mooney’s combines the two best places to hang out – an Irish Pub and a Sports Bar – into one great place. Mooney’s is the best of both and makes some of Buffalo’s favorite mac and cheese.

Webster’s

Webster’s is a French & American bistro and bar welcoming you with a casual, warm atmosphere, and a menu that is sure to please any palate.

Shop

Black Sheep Market

Carrying locally-made jewelry, ceramic art, and other oddities, Black Sheep Market appeals to those with great and somewhat dark senses of humor.

Cats Like Us

Jammed with fashions, accessories, and music of the 1950s, Cats Like Us features clothing for all, and includes estate finds, vintage goods, and must-have wardrobe basics like novelty socks and party dresses.

Hello Sweets

A destination for all things sugar, Hello Sweets has racks, tables, and shelves full of vintage and hard-to find candies, imported and exotic confections, soda pop from all over, and other novelties.

Savor

Prescott’s Provisions

Prescott’s Provisions offers an elevated dining experience along the historic Erie Canal. Whether you’re arriving by car, boat or bike, you’ll find a farm-to-table menu with the bounties of local agriculture.

Ted’s Hot Dogs

Famous for its charcoal broiled hotdogs, homemade hot sauce, old-fashioned milk shakes, handmade onion rings and other menu items grilled to perfection.

Anderson’s Frozen Custard
