Exhibition: Shirley Chisholm

Opening September 21, 2024:

With the presidential election just a few weeks away, there has been considerable talk about “breaking down barriers” and “history being made.” But the Buffalo Presidential Center is focusing our newest exhibit on a woman of color born a century ago who helped pave the way for 2024.

Educator, NYS Assembly Member, Congresswoman, Presidential candidate, National Women’s Hall of Fame inductee, Presidential Medal of Freedom awardee, and so much more. Learn about the career of this trailblazing woman, her connections to WNY and her political legacy.
