Built between 1923 and 1929, this magnificent Lombard-Romanesque church was designed by the Buffalo architectural firm of Chester Oakley and Albert Schallmo. The exterior features hand made bricks with many terra cotta adornments, and an imposing facade which takes its inspiration from the twelfth century portal of St. Trophime in Aries, France. The interior has magnificent coffered-barrel vaulting over the nave and an extraordinary dome over the crossing along with outstanding artwork throughout.

The edifice is on the National Register of Historic Places. Its unique style makes it stand out from other churches in Western New York.
