Shop our Buffalo farmers markets like a pro. Even though the leaves are changing and the temps are cooler, farmers markets are still popping up all over some of our favorite neighborhoods – and they are filled with delicious fruits, vegetables, pastries, and artisanal goods. Truly the heart of the community, farmers and artisans gather with the area’s residents to celebrate the autumnal harvest. Here are my top fresh fall picks for the best local farmers markets.

Saturday Markets

Elmwood/Bidwell Market, 8AM – 1PM, Bidwell Pkwy at Elmwood Ave, Buffalo
Elmwood Village’s farmers market is located in Bidwell Park, a beautiful strip of parkway that’s right in the center of the Elmwood Village shopping district, which was named by the American Planning Association as one of the country’s 10 best neighborhoods. Start your morning off with a frosty-cold, icy coffee brew from Public Espresso, and then indulge in baked goods from Breadhive, confections from Butter Block, and pickles from Barrel + Brine. West Side Tilth Farm Stand, 10AM – 3PM, 246 Normal Ave, Buffalo
Tucked away on Buffalo’s West Side lies an urban market garden that has been growing seasonal vegetables and mushrooms since the summer of 2017. The small, organic and environmentally-friendly Westside Tilth Farm supplies produce to some favorite Buffalo shops and restaurants like Butter Block, Lexington Coop, Breadhive, and Merge – and you can shop here, too. And keep an eye out out for their pizza specials, with stone-fired pizzas cooked right on site!*Until November 2nd*

Williamsville Farmers Market, 8AM – 1PM, 5583 Main St, Williamsville
This farmers market recently moved to Amherst Town Hall on Main Street. At the market, you’re met with live jazz or folk music, kids playing and families enjoying the sunny day under the green canopy of lush trees. Grab a freshly made donut at Duke’s Donuts and a coffee from Kornerstone Coffee and peruse the locally grown fruits and vegetables, locally made sausage, natural fed beef, local wine, fresh cut flowers, herbs, breads, pies and more. Spend the morning or the whole day by bringing a picnic lunch and chilling in nearby Glen Park. This site offers a playground for the kids, picnic tables and the sparkling waters of Ellicott Creek that surround the island. *Until October 26th*

Clarence Hollow Farmers Market, 8AM – 1PM, 10717 Main St, Clarence
Partake in the fresh local strawberries, asparagus, jams and crafts of nearly 30 local vendors at New York State’s only “Rails to Trails” farmers market. Keep an eye on the Clarence Hollow Farmers Market’s special events too, which promise fun for the whole family. *Until October 26th*

Hamburg Farmers Market, 7:30AM – 1PM, Village of Hamburg Municipal Lot
Going on 40 years of operation, the Hamburg Farmers Market’s chief motto is to “eat local, shop local and support local”. In addition to offering produce from farms only a stone’s throw away, this market also prides itself on teaching the community about sustainability, being environmentally friendly and nutritious care. *Until October 26th*

Sunday Markets

Kenmore Farmers Market, 9AM – 1PM, The Village Green, 2919 Delaware Ave, Kenmore
The scent of fresh fruit and flowers is in the air at the Village Green in the Village of Kenmore. In addition to vendors selling local honey, tea, artisanal cheeses, spirits and more, you’ll find good eats from several local food trucks. Work off the calories you just ate with a little free yoga in the Green, too. *Until October 28th*

Tuesday Markets

Downtown Country Market, 10AM – 2:30PM, Main St (between Church & Court), Buffalo
Right in the heart of Buffalo, the 37th annual season of the Downtown Country Market is underway. Steps away from the daily concerts at M&T Plaza, the market is stocked with fresh produce from the region’s best farms while the sweet aroma of kettle corn and freshly baked donuts lingers in the air. North Tonawanda Farmers Market, 7AM – 1PM, Payne & Robinson Sts, North Tonawanda
Established in 1908, the city market has been a North Tonawanda staple for over 100 years. During the summer peak, it’s one of the region’s largest outdoor markets, stocking everything from flowers and fruits to cheeses and cookies. You’ll find nearly everything under the sun here! Also open on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Wednesday Markets

Springville Farmers/Flea Market, 7AM – 5PM, 341 West Main St, Springville
A truly American market, the Springville Farmers and Flea Market possesses a uniquely small town feel. Browse the baked goods and crafts from the local Amish community and fresh meats, from beef and pork to rabbit and other wild game. At the flea market, you’ll find a bevy of trinkets and antiques.

East Aurora Farmers Market, 7AM – 1PM, Grey St, East Aurora
Make a trip to East Aurora to explore the Roycroft Campus and its flourishing artist community. The farmers market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7am-1pm, and offers everything from vibrant flowers, fresh picked veggies, homemade soaps, raw honey and more. Eastgate Plaza Farmers Market, 3PM – 7PM, 4927-5089 Transit Rd, Clarence
A relative newcomer to the farmers market scene, the East Gate Plaza market springs back to life for its second season. Featuring over 30 vendors like Kindred Kreek Farms, Bark For Biscuits Dog Bakery, Pickle Annie’s, and 4 different wineries, a trip to this market is also a good time to shop at the other nearby, year-round retailers. Thursday Markets

North Buffalo Farmers Market, 4PM – 7PM, 780 Parkside Ave, Buffalo
North Buffalo is a burgeoning shopping district with roots in the Italian community. The market offers an eclectic mix of all natural beef by Librock Beef, dairy free delicacies by Carla’s Crumby Creations, produce by Schwab Farm Market, and floral by Petrichor Flora. It’s time to freshen up your routine and make a trip to this local market! Moves to Saturdays 9AM-12PM after Labor Day. *Through October*

Orchard Park Farmers and Artisans Market, 3PM – 7PM, 4050 North Buffalo St, Orchard Park
The Orchard Park Farmers & Artisans Market is one of the newest farmers’ markets to hit the scene. Located in the Orchard Fresh parking lot, this market has food trucks including Lloyd Taco & Ted’s Hot Dogs. Keep up-to-date on their Facebook page, with vendors such as, Fetch! The Clinton-Bailey Farmers Market can trace its roots back all the way to 1930, when it was conceived as a cooperative market for helping local business survive and thrive.
