Malls and Shopping
When it’s time to shop, it’s time to get down to business and get moving. Before you head out on a Buffalo bargain-hunting adventure, it’s best you have a shopping list to guide you to the best of the best. You’ll need a full day to fully experience each of these locations so set the alarm clock, make that deposit at the bank, fuel up and head out for some retail therapy.
Elmwood Village – This ultra-chic neighborhood should be first on your hit list. First things first, you need a jolt of caffeine to give you the morning kick-start you need to make it through the day. Fuel up at Spot Coffee before you head to some local favorites like Anna Grace, ShoeFly and Penzey’s Spices.
Walden Galleria – No shopping trip to Buffalo is complete without a visit to the largest mall in the area. Whether you’re stocking up on back-to-school duds for the kids at Aeropostale, looking for the perfect dress to wear to all of those summer weddings at Macy’s or want to splurge a bit on that purse you’ve been eyeing for months at Michael Kors, you’ve come to the right place. Your wardrobe will thank you.
Hertel Avenue – Some of our favorite boutiques can be found on Hertel Avenue. Modern Nostalgia and P. S. Accessories top the list but most certainly don’t end it. Time your trip accordingly around lunch or dinner so you can give the wood-fried pizzas at La Tavola or the impressive beer list at Public House a whirl.
East Aurora – Have an afternoon to spare? Head south of all of the aforementioned malls and neighborhoods… destination: the village of East Aurora. You can shop for handmade artisan goods at the Roycroft Campus Copper Shop Gallery, or take a walk through the past at Vidler’s 5 & 10. Popcorn for a nickel, anyone?
Williamsville – This neighborhood has come a long way from its historic roots, now hosting a bevy of boutiques, cafes, gift shops and restaurants. Find some previously-loved duds at Second Chic, cover-ups for the pool at Blum’s or add to your tea collection at TeaLeafs. Cocktails at Giancarlo’s and a small plate to share at (wait for it…) Share Kitchen & Bar and that’s a solid afternoon of self-care in the books!
At the end of the day your wallet should be lighter but your smile will be wider.
Happy shopping!
